Patch Notes : Flex Canvas Pants

At LIVSN, we believe the best way to make quality products is by listening closely to our customers. 

We want to create climbing pants that are stretchy while still being durable, travel pants that keep your belongings safe and your bags light, and fishing pants that dry quickly and allow you easy access gear on the fly.

If it's possible to own one pair of outdoor pants that do it all - that truly allows you to own less while doing more - then we want to be the ones to create them.

We can get there by staying tuned to your customer feedback, and then using your notes to continually improve our designs.

This kind of dialogue is one of our core Apparel Design Principles, and something we take seriously as we grow.

We want to make the best outdoor pants, and having a continuous conversation with our supporters helps us improve with each new iteration.

To give more transparency as to how the Flex Canvas Pants have evolved over the years, the full history of revisions is listed below.

We like to call these "Patch Notes" and will releasing them for all products as we continually look to improve.

V1 (February '19)

• Fabric content: 58% cotton | 40% polyester | 2% Spandex

• Fabric weight: 248 gsm (7.3 oz)

• Slim tapered leg

• Hidden zippered security pocket inside left-hand pocket

• Reinforced rear patch pockets with hidden zipper closures

• Articulated knees for free range of motion

• Gusseted crotch to prevent blowouts

• Flat felled seams in high-stress areas, double-needle stitching throughout

• Extra bartacks and reinforcements on all pockets

• Roll-up leg closure system with reflective taping

• Knife pocket on left hip

• YKK zipper fly

• YKK Vislon lockdown rear zippers

• Deep and ventilated mesh front pockets with phone sleeve

• Mesh rear lining to create airspace for temperature control

V2 (March '20)

• Now made with Ecoflex Canvas: Same fabric but using GOTS-certified organic cotton and recycled polyester

• Roll-up button location optimized at 12" up across all sizes

• Roll-up button now recessed-stitched cateye style for greater durability

• Knife-pocket size expanded by 1/2" wide and 1" tall and now on both legs

• Optimized fit for a more flattering silhouette and greater size consistency

  • 1/2" lower front rise, 1/2" higher rear rise, 1/4" added to upper thighs and hips

  • All waist sizes brought to the same 1.5" difference (Size 30 waist = 31.5" true waist)

• Front pockets deepened by 3/4" to accommodate larger phones

• Internal phone sleeve now on both front pockets

V2.1 (August '20)

• Eliminated single-use plastic packaging by moving to a roll-packed method

  • Raffia-paper twine, recycled cardstock hangtag, clay-packs instead of silica for moisture control

• Knife pockets deepened by 1"

• Knee dart stitching brought to a point with one continuous thread instead of box stitch to eliminate loose threads and increase strength

• Center-front shank button moved inward by .25" to help fly-covering lay flatter

• Increased thread count on center-front buttonhole and on cateye roll-up system buttons

V2.2 (May '21)

• Improved stitch durability by using a 1.5x stronger thread 

• All waist sizes increased to a 2" difference (Size 30 waist = 32" true waist)

• Expanded sizing options to include 32x34, 33x30, 34x30, 36x30, 38x30
• Back pocket sizing increased on waist sizes 29, 30, 31
