Our new fall collection has been rolling into homes all over the world these past few weeks. We don't want any of the products to get lost in the shuffle about what makes them special, and by giving each some spotlight time, we can better explain why we believe they are worth the time and resources required to produce them.

Our apparel design principles aren't just words we slap on a hangtag or box to check and forget, but criteria we set for ourselves and our suppliers (more on this to come!) to continually pursue responsible production practices that create timeless pieces. We want our audience to know what each product is made from, why it's made, and how design features impact attributes like durability, versatility, and longevity. 

We've never been shy about transparency regarding our practices, successes and failures alike, and we welcome questions and feedback as an opportunity to explain our thoughts and choices. We release new products incrementally after years of development and testing as part of our brand ethos and we have had our eye on creating an ideal tee for outdoor enthusiasts for some time.

The Keystone intentionally appears simple on the surface, and the reasoning behind this is best echoed by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry,

“Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.”

Mr. Saint-Exupéry was more concerned with aviation and being French in this context, but the same sentiment holds true for apparel design and much more in life.

The design of this tee is simple and unburdened by extraneous fabric or features that could theoretically add to it but just as easily drag the design down.

Sourcing Details

Our Tier 1 factory in Vietnam that assembled this piece is LEED v4 Gold certified. 

The factory was WRAP certified through 2023, ensuring that it complied with the 12 WRAP Principles that promote safe, legal, and ethical manufacturing processes. As certification demands have evolved, they are now working toward zero critical non-conformity in a Fairwear Foundation audit in the fall of 2024.

The Keystone Longsleeve was designed with our Original Fit, meaning it has a tailored look that follows body lines without being too tight or loose on the wearer.

The features are what we want most in a baselayer, it insulates, it's durable, and has enough odor resistance that you can pop into a restaurant after a long hike without the locals picking up their pitchforks*.
